Sonic the Hedgehog has been going through his Nintendo exclusive phase for a while now. Following the release of Sonic Unleashed, the blue hedgehog could only be found on Nintendo platforms. However, it appears that things could be changing in the near future if the recently leaked photo from Nuremburg Toy Fair is to be believed.
The photo discovered by Spindash has seemingly outed the title:
At the very bottom under ‘New Games’ we find an unnamed 2015 title, boasting not only the Wii U, but also the PS4 and Xbox One. While Sega is a Third-Party Publisher/Developer and is free to move their character across whatever platforms they desire, the information is quite suspicious.
Back in May, Nintendo announced that they and Sega had signed an exclusivity deal that would bring three exclusive Sonic games to Nintendo platforms. So far only two games have been released; Sonic: Lost World and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games: Sochi 2014. So where’s the third game? It can’t possibly be this unnamed 2015 title if it’s also coming to the PS4 and Xbox One, could it? Perhaps Sonic’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. will meet the requirements of a third title. We’ll just have to wait for an official announcement.
