Theatrhythm is one of the 3DS’ hidden gems. Thus not only is it one of the best titles on the system, it’s just one hell a rhythm game overall. Thankfully, many other gamers share that sentiment, which helped it sell pretty well worldwide. Due to this level of success, not too long ago Square Enix announced that they have a sequel in the works entitled Curtain Call. To commemorate its upcoming release, Square have also just revealed a special edition 3DS XL to supplement its April 24 launch.
The traditional release of the Curtain Call will be available for ¥5,800 (~$60), in addition to a downloadable version priced at a cheaper ¥4,444. The limited edition 3DS LL (XL) bundle is priced at ¥23,000 ($230), but comes complete with the custom hardware, as well as a digital copy of the game loaded onto an SD card.
At this time, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is not scheduled for a western release; however, a recent European trademark of the game seems to indicate that it’s at least making its way to our friends across the Pond. That said, it’s unlikely that we won’t get the game at some point, so keep an eye out for more details as they come down the pipe.
