It’s hard to fathom a game selling out after it’s been on store shelves for over four months. Still, that’s what’s happening with XSEED’s farming, dungeon-delve RPG Rune Factory 4. Despite not having any initial stock problems, it would seem that the game, which launched back in October of last year, is coming up against the issue of shortages. According to the title’s publisher, Rune Factory 4 has been a “major success,” and as such, is becoming harder and harder to find in stores.
Naturally, the RPG community is a little distraught over such circumstances, and took to Twitter to vocalize their concerns to the publisher. Thankfully XSEED is one of those companies that’s pretty good at responding to its fans’ woes. As such, they released a Tweet today indicating that they are in fact aware of the shortages and are diligently working to remedy the problem. They said the following in response to the situation:
We’ve received quite a few inquiries asking about Rune Factory 4 since it’s been difficult to find in stores in North America. Don’t worry! It’s just been selling well beyond our expectations, so we’re working as quickly as possible to restock physical copies. We encourage you to periodically check back with retailers since they should be getting more in stock soon. Thanks for making Rune Factory 4 a major success, guys!
We reviewed Rune Factory 4 back at its launch and were rather pleased with how it turned out. Be sure to check our review, then decide if it’s worth trying to track down a copy.
