Dong Nguyen, creator of mobile gaming’s latest surprise hit Flappy Bird, has announced on Twitter that he will be removing the game from distribution tomorrow, February 9. Nguyen clarified in subsequent tweets that his decision has nothing to do with legal issues and that he is not interested in selling the game. An earlier tweet from Nguyen read, “I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it”. For now, it seems Nguyen is just looking for a bit of peace and quiet. If you simply must have Flappy Bird and don’t already, the clock is ticking to play it before it’s gone.
