PS Vita Slim Comes To North America This Spring Alongside Borderlands 2

Sony has officially confirmed that their brand new PS Vita model will indeed be coming to North America. Available now in Japan and Europe, many have been waiting anxiously for Sony to bring the latest iteration of their handheld console to North American shores.

Much like in Europe, only the black model will be releasing in North America. The redesigned handheld is lighter, thinner and features improved battery life, but comes at the loss of the OLED screen. Replacing it is an LCD screen, which Sony claims is near-identical in quality.

Sony has also announced that the redesigned handheld will come bundled with Borderlands 2 (as a voucher code) and an 8GB memory card. Borderlands 2 on PS Vita will act like a Game of the Year Edition and provide most of the DLC already released. The packs included are Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and the Collector’s Edition Pack.

The new PS Vita, nicknamed Slim by the community, will launch Spring 2014 for $199.99.
