Hideo Kojima, legendary Metal Gear Solid creator seems to strongly favor the PlayStation 4 over its competition. During a discussion with Famitsu, Kojima openly states that “between the home consoles available in the domestic market, the PS4 is the best.” It wasn’t all fan gushing, however. While Kojima respectfully avoided any direct juxtaposition of both leading consoles, there’s no doubt that the Xbox One was at the butt of his claims.
“It’s also excellent for graphics, being able to render 1080p at 60fps with room to spare. Since it does it a little better than other hardware, the image quality of the PS4 is the most beautiful.”
Indeed, Kojima has long had a strong relationship with Sony, but as a professional actively working in the games industry, and currently developing a title for both leading consoles; is there any reason to believe that his statements are a fabrication? No, not at all. Xbox One users have been expressing their uncertainty regarding the differences in resolution between both consoles long before Sniper Elite developer, Rebellion, claimed that the consoles eSRAM was too small to output games at 1080p.
Answers concerning the limitations of the Cloud or its power to even the board have been unswerving. Only time will tell whether Microsoft can accommodate developers in the way Sony clearly has.
