A couple days ago Konami and Kojima Productions revealed plenty of comparison screenshots between the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. While it was nice to see the differences in stills, it’s even better to see if the differences can actually be spotted while playing the game. Konami appears to agree and have released a brand new video highlighting the differences between the PS3/Xbox 360 versions and the PS4/Xbox One versions.
There is actually a noticeable difference. The texture quality and lighting are vastly improved in the next-gen versions. Text appears clearly and environmental objects, such as rocks, are much more detailed on PS4 and Xbox One. At the end there’s even a nice speed test where we get to see just how fluid the animations are.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is the prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Both games run on the brand new Fox Engine, which was built for next-gen development. Metal Gear is a franchise that is known for having fantastic visuals. We’ll get to see if Ground Zeroes continues this trend next month.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is out March 18 in PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. Check out the comparison video below:
