Jim Greer, CEO of Kongregate has chosen to step down from his position in order to focus on politics. He made the announcement via a forum post on the indie game portal’s website. He intends to focus on launching a non-profit political action group. While he will still be serving as the casual games company’s CTO part-time, his sister Emily Greer will take over as the site’s CEO. The change in leadership will go into effect February 28.
Stepping down hasn’t affected Greer’s spirits, however. “I’m the happiest I’ve been in my life, and I’m bursting with pride at what we’ve done together and with what I know we’ll continue to do.” Readers should expect information regarding his political movement soon.
