Battlefield 4 already has two expansions released, China Rising and Second Assault, and now it’s time to look towards the future, and the future looks very wet. Naval Strike takes the battle back to the sea with the new hovercraft, weapons, gadgets, four maps and a brand new game mode that pays homage to a fan-favorite mode from the past.
Naval Strike will add four brand new multiplayer maps to the game:
- Lost Islands
- Wave Breaker
- Nansha Strike
- Operation Mortar
These maps will join Paracel Storm as being almost completely water based. The goal of this expansion is to take the naval combat in Battlefield 4 and make that even more intense. With the introduction of the hovercraft, players will get to explore all new ways of dominating their opponents using the sea.
New maps aren’t the only thing players are getting in Naval Strike. It also comes with a new game mode; Carrier Assault. This is a reimagined version of Battlefield 2142’s Titan Mode. In that mode, players would destroy shields protecting a titan and then board it. Destroying the titan is the objective. Dice hasn’t revealed how Carrier Assault will work, but we imagine that it will be similar to Titan Mode.
Battlefield 4: Naval Strike is out later March for Battlefield Premium members on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
