Cyberpunk 2077 Development Won’t Be Impacted By The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Delay

Yesterday we got the terrible news that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won’t be releasing in 2014.  Rather, it will not launch February 2015.  How this would affect Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red’s other project, was uncertain until today.

CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwinski confirmed to Gamespot that development for the game shouldn’t be affected.  “”Cyberpunk 2077 is developed by a separate team within CD Projekt Red, so the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is not really affected.”

However, he did note that some of the development team has shifted over to help work on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.  “In order to ship a huge RPG we do use help of certain team members between teams. It works this way between Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. We are working hard to deliver an outstanding RPG and rest assured, that all the learnings on The Witcher 3 are being applied to the Cyberpunk 2077 development.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is out sometime in the future for PS4, Xbox One and PC.  The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out February 2015.
