The annual Evo Fighting Game Championship will take place this year from June 11-June 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the organizers have announced a fan favorite game will return from last year. Super Smash Bros. Melee will be at Evo 2014, and with Nintendo’s approval.
Super Smash Bros. Melee was selected as a playable title last year, but Nintendo quickly put a stop to it. They didn’t want the matches streamed. However, after much fan demand, the publisher relented and allowed the game to be played and streamed online. This year, the announcement comes with the approval so we’re not stuck wondering if Nintendo is going to pull the plug or let it happen.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl joins a list of six other titles:
- Injustice: Gods Among Us
- Ultra Street Fighter IV
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- Killer Instinct
- King of Fighters XIII
- BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma
Evo 2014 will take place June 11-June 13 at the LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
