The Last of Us Surpasses 6 Million Units Sold

The Last of Us continues to impress.  After winning Best Game and four other awards at the BAFTA Game Awards 2014, Naughty Dog has revealed that the award-winning game has surpasses 6 million units sold.  That’s right, not shipped, but actually sold to consumers.

Alongside this amazing news, Naughty Dog has also announced a whole slew of talks that members of its staff will be hosting at GDC next week.  If you’ve ever wondered how Naughty Dog made the game then you’ll want to attend these talks.

The Last of Us launched June 2013 to universal praise.  By the end of June 2013, the game had sold 3.4 million copies making it the fastest selling game of 2013 at that time.  The game went on to win numerous awards from various publications and awards shows.  We at Hardcore Gamer named The Last of Us our Game of the Year for 2013.  In February 2014, Naughty Dog released The Last of Us: Left Behind, a single player add-on that was also universally praised.

The Last of Us is available now exclusively on PS3.
