Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the prologue to The Phantom Pain, launches this week on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. With the prologue about to be in people’s hands, our attentions now turn to the full release. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain remains a mysterious game with no release date in sight. However, Ground Zeroes may hold a clue.
Reddit user Hitzkolpf managed to get his hands on an early copy of Ground Zeroes and posted a very interesting message. When you register your copy it says to come back early 2015 to claim your downloadable content. You can check it out below:
So, what does this mean? While it isn’t out of the question for DLC to be released for Ground Zeroes, it seems more plausible that this is for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. For one, releasing DLC a year after the game’s release is risky as many would have moved on. Secondly, Hideo Kojima has already confirmed playing Ground Zeroes will net players certain bonuses in The Phantom Pain.
Take this all with a grain of salt. Konami and Kojima Productions have yet to announce an official release date.
