Octodad: Dadliest Catch developer Young Horses revealed today that the game has exceeded sales expectations. The game, available now on PC, Mac and Linux, has sold 90,000 copies. While this may not sound like much, it actually is a lot for the team of eight who have been working on it for 2.5 years.
“All we’ve ever wanted was to create something that connects with folks and to be able to continue doing that with our creative control intact,” the developer writes.
“Today we’re happy to say that both the sales and reception of Dadliest Catch have exceeded those expectations. To date, Octodad: Dadliest Catch has sold over 90,000 copies on PC/Mac/Linux. Our expectations have been met and then some to say the least.”
Young Horses are currently working on hard on updating and improving the game based on player feedback. All of the benefits that the PC, Mac and Linux players will get will also be integrated into the PS4 version, which the programmers have been putting the final touches on.
Octodad: Dadliest Catch is available now on PC, Mac and Linux with the PS4 version set to launch sometime in April.
