A few days after Assassin’s Creed Unity was leaked, Ubisoft has apparently suffered another leak. It would appear that Far Cry 4 is set to makes debut at E3 2014 with a release sometime before March 31, 2015.
Sources have come forward to Eurogamer about this info. Ubisoft is hoping to get the game out before the end of next Financial Year, which is March 31, 2015. The game will have a prominent place at Ubisoft’s E3 2o14 Press Conference, which will take place on June 9. PS4, Xbox One and PC versions are expected to be announced, but the sources weren’t clear if there would be PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
It also looks like Far Cry 4 will leave behind the sun-drenched tropics for the snowy Himalayas. Yes, Far Cry 4 will apparently be set in the snowy mountain region. New gameplay features include the ability to ride elephants.
This is a major shift in setting from previous entries in the franchise. Far Cry and Far Cry 3 both took place on tropical islands. Far Cry 2 took place in an African savanna. While its sad to see the beautiful jungles go, it’s still interesting to see the franchise take on another locale.
Take this with a grain of salt. E3 is only a few months away so we should find out soon.
