Despite the success of Sony’s games division, the company was unable to offset its losses — which are expected to amount to $1.1 billlion by the end of the fiscal year. Videogamer reports that a wave of layoffs has affected several first-party Sony studios, including Evolution Studios (Driveclub) and Guerrilla Cambridge (Killzone Mercenary).
“We have reviewed and assessed all current projects and have decided to make some changes to some of our European Studios. As a result of this, there will be a focused restructure within London Studio, Guerrilla Cambridge Studio and Evolution Studio to ensure that the SCE WWS is in the best position to achieve their goals going forward,” a Sony spokesperson told Videogamer.
For those wondering, Sony has assured that this news won’t affect previously announced titles such as Driveclub.
