It seems that a Sony representative in Turkey may have spilled the beans regarding a potential PlayStation 4 edition of The Last of Us.
In a program which aired on CNN Turkey, the Vice President of the PlayStation brand in Turkey, Sercan Sulun, appeared as a guest. During the program he was asked about The Last of Us and its potential sequel. His response– which has been translated by NeoGAF forum member Quirah and later validated by another forum member, Heavy’s Sandvich — was as follows:
“No, sequel is not coming right now as far as I know but I can say that first game will be released this summer for PS4 as a physical and digital copy, with enhanced graphics.”
A PS4 edition certainly wouldn’t be surprising. Enhanced HD editions of PS2 games appeared on the PlayStation 3, so having one of the PS3’s biggest hits appear on the PS4 with new and improved visuals, as well as additional content, certainly would make sense.
You can check out the rest of the discussion in the original NeoGAF thread, and if you happen to know a little Turkish then you can watch the program itself. Until we get official word from Sony or Naughty Dog, let’s file this one under “rumor” for the time being, shall we?
