Diablo III: Reaper Of Souls Sells 2.7 Million Copies

Blizzard has announced that Diablo III: Reaper of Souls has sold 2.7 million copies in only one week.  Diablo III has sold over 12 million units worldwide since its launch back in 2012 so it makes sense that demand for an expansion pack would also be high.  Blizzard also revealed that the final boss, Malthael, has been defeated 1.5 million times.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls takes place after the events of Diablo III.  Diablo is defeated and all of his evil sealed in the Black Soulstone.  However, fallen archangel Malthael steals the soulstone leaving it to the Nephalem to once again save the day.

The expansion adds on a significant amount of new content.  In addition to the new campaign, you’ll also get a new playable class (the Crusader), new powers and the all new Adventure Mode.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is available now on PC and Mac.  It is currently in development for PS4 and will arrive sometime in 2014.  No word on PS3, Xbox 360 or Xbox One versions.
