Tales of Hearts R Finally Gets Western Localization

When it comes to Japanese role-playing games, the anime art style and level grinding that normally tie into the gameplay are perfectly suited for the PlayStation Vita. Thankfully, as per the tremendous demand from fans, Namco Bandai has announced today that they will be adding to the catalog another “Tales Of” title with Tales of Hearts R.

Tales of Hearts R comes to us as full-fledged remake of the heavily praised Tales of Hearts, the original Nintendo DS title that released way back in 2008. Japanese gamers were happy to get their version of the rendition when it released on the PlayStation Vita in March last year. However, Game Producer Hideo Baba had been hearing plenty of requests for a Western localization. According to a video released by Baba today, Tales of Hearts R will be getting a North American release date soon.

“While watching the house in his grandfather’s absence, Kor meets a young woman named Kohaku who has come searching for his grandfather. However, a mysterious witch soon appears and casts a spell on Kohaku’s Spiria, the embodiment of her heart and soul. Kor attempts to lift the spell, but while doing so he accidentally shatters her Spiria Core, the source of her emotions,” Namco Bandai writes.

“Armed only with the Soma, an unusual weapon given to him by his grandfather, Kor must now set out on a journey to find a way to make Kohaku’s Spiria whole once more.”

There is no set date for Tales of R yet, but Namco Bandi is pushing for a winter release. Check out the announcement video below.
