Remember that BRCS game that Arc System Works was teasing for the past week? Well, it’s not a new IP. It’s a BloodRayne game, and it’s not a new one either. Rather, it’s the Japanese release of a game that we’ve had for ages: BloodRayne: Betrayal, which released in North America way back in 2011.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though. BloodRayne: Betrayal was a pretty great 2D effort by WayForward, a studio that knows how to make retro hip and cool again. Good for Japanese gamers, I suppose. It’ll launch on the Vita and PS3 with Arc System Works simply serving as the publisher and nothing else. They may add a few new trinkets to this “better late than never” Japanese release, however.
It’s easy to forget that in rare occasions we get certain games eons before Japan does. You can check out the Japanese website for BloodRayne: Betrayal for trailers and images.
