Nintendo Ceases Ordering for Physical Club Nintendo Rewards

Club Nintendo has been a bit of a bummer lately. After releasing the Luigi’s Mansion 2 figurine that was clearly a point drain to take as much liability away as possible, store updates have been almost non-existent. Now physical items can’t even be purchased. A notice was posted on Club Nintendo that states:

“Orders for physical rewards are currently closed while we update our systems. But there’s good news: We’ll be accepting orders again starting May 13. We’ve also got great digital games that you can download instantly, so check ’em out.”

We’re not sure exactly why Nintendo has taken this move, as unless they’re overhauling the entire system, three weeks of downtime seems a bit excessive. Hopefully when physical ordering resumes, a bevy of new items will be added, but for now we lay in wait and wonder if we should blow our points on Balloon Fight.
