Xbox One Japanese Release Date Announced

It was revealed today that Microsoft’s next-gen console will finally make its way to Japan on September 4, almost 10 months after launching in North America and nearly seven months after Sony’s PS4 burst out of the gates in Japan. The announcement also came with pledges of support from over 40 game companies, a list of which can be seen below:

A full launch lineup has yet to be revealed, but games like Ryse: Son of Rome, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Dead Rising 3, Kinect Sports Rivals, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and Halo on Xbox One have been confirmed for Japanese release.

It will be interesting to see how much of an impact Microsoft can make in a games climate overwhelmingly dominated by Japan-based companies Nintendo and Sony.
