Concerned about increasing file sizes? Well, Wolfenstein: The New Order is not for you.
Today, Bethesda revealed that Wolfenstein: The New Order (set for a May 20th release) is absolutely massive, taking up roughly one tenth of your PS4 or Xbox One hard drive. If you are looking to download a digital copy of the upcoming Nazi shooter, you will need 47 GB of free space. In fact, the game is so large that you will need 8 GB of free space to even run it at all. The PlayStation 3 disc version of Wolfenstein: The New Order will require 8 GB of space, while the digital version will be made available through a 17 GB install.
Easily the most shocking news involves the Xbox 360 version, which requires an 8 GB install and comes on four discs. This will likely mean that the game will ship in a larger box than standard Xbox 360 games (perhaps similar to L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition). If you are looking to purchase this version, make sure that you have ample shelf space.
Finally, Bethesda released Wolfenstein: The New Order‘s hefty PC requirements, stating that an Intel Core i7 or equivalent AMD processor is “necessary.” The game will also require a GeForce 460/Radeon 6850, 4GB RAM, a 64-bit version of either Windows 7 or Windows 8, and 50GB of free hard drive space.
According to Bethesda, “If your PC matches these requirements, then you’re good to go!”
