The standalone DayZ game has surpassed a new sales milestone. Despite being in Steam Early Access and thus incomplete, DayZ has surpassed 2 million units sold. It only took the game six months to hit this milestone.
Project Lead Dean Hall made the announcement on Twitter. “Just over 2 years ago the DayZ mod released. Today, the Standalone game just broke 2 million units in under 6 months.”
DayZ was a mode created by Dean Hall that turned ARMA 2 into a zombie survival simulator. The mode was very popular among fans so developer Bohemia Interactive reached out to Dean Hall about creating a standalone game. The first version of DayZ launched on Steam Early Access six months ago, and, as you can clearly see, has been a smashing success. Bohemia Interactive has been updating the game since launch with new features, stability patches and fresh content.
DayZ is available now on PC via Steam Early Access. It is unknown when the full, complete game will launch.
