Oh Yeah: Blizzard Offers Free ’90s Games

There are two types of people: those who enjoy free stuff, and those who are stupid. OK, that doesn’t really work, because people can be both smart and incapable of tolerating the smell of a dumpster couch cushion (now used as one part of an innovative ultra-adjustable bed, I’ll have you know). But what about free games? Surly no sensible person could resist free games, right? I didn’t think so.

Blizzard, the creators of World of Warcraft — and other “under the radar” titles like Diablo and StarCraft — have decided to hand out some games from their Silicon & Synapse days. Three games, to be exact: The Lost Vikings, Battlethorne and Rock ‘n’ Roll Racing.

Those unfamiliar with the titles should know the following: they’re awesome. Blizzard was never really known for making bad games, even when they were dishing out side-scrollers featuring fighting Vikings. Fortunately, the free part of Blizzard’s “free games” doesn’t come with any snags or hitches; download and enjoy via Battle.net.
