While many were hoping for a 1080p, 60fps experience from Watch Dogs on PS4, that won’t be the case. Through Ubisoft’s blog, Communications Manager Gary Steinman has revealed in a lengthy post the true resolution and frame rate for the upcoming game. Firstly, on both current generation consoles, Watch Dogs will run at a solid 30 frames-per-second. The difference comes in the form of resolution, as the Xbox One version is 792p, the same as Titanfall, and 900p on the PlayStation 4.
Truthfully, this isn’t as big of a deal as most people will make it out to be. While it would be ideal to have the game run natively at 1080p, so long as the visuals and gameplay aren’t compromised, it still should be an enjoyable experience. Watch Dogs will be available May 27 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
