Tariser Studios, one of the developers behind the brilliant LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, has announced a new IP that should be hitting the digital PlayStation 4 store in the future.
Hunger tells the story of a nine-year-old girl named Six who is kidnapped and put to work in an elitist underwater resort, known as “The Maw.” Given a brief glimpse of freedom, Six journeys through the strange resort in order to find her way back home. A third-person action-adventure game, Hunger boasts a beautiful art-style and a potentially touching narrative. Tarsier studios was awarded a large grant (the equivalent of 67,000 Euros) from the Nordic Game Program at the 2014 Nordic Game Conference to be put towards the development of the new IP.
Though specific platforms have not been officially listed, Tarsier signed a first-party deal with Sony in 2010 in regards to a then-unannounced new project. Tarsier released a quote on its hopes of Hunger being a digital PlayStation 4 title, stating, “As mentioned earlier, we are currently aiming to make it a downloadable title for PS4. I can’t say more than that and what’s in the blog post, but it’s really encouraging to see that you guys like what we’ve revealed today.”
