Steam In-Home Streaming was one of the things that Valve announced and then quickly pushed into beta for a while. It’s finally available to all Steam users as of today!
What does it offer for PC gamers? The basic concept is that you have one computer set up as the “streaming” system and then log into some other device to play games from the initial computer. This all takes place over your local home network which means there should be very minimal delays in regards to input.
The most exciting aspects of Steam In-Home Streaming are that you can run games from one high end computer in the home to whatever else you want. Whether that is a less powerful PC, Linux machine, or laptop, it should function just as well as if it were playing on the most powerful computer you own.
