Now that Microsoft has announced the soon to be released ability to add an external hard drive to the Xbox One, which model(s) are you looking at? The requirements for compatibility are that the drives must be greater than 256GB, must be USB 3.0, and they will need to be formatted. There are many brands and models to choose from. Major Nelson, aka Larry Hryb (Director of Programming for Xbox Live), gave the model they used for testing and said that it worked great.
The external drive he mentioned was the Seagate Expansion 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STBV4000100). Just the thought of having that much space for the years ahead has me very excited. Don’t forget that the update will also give users the ability to add 2 USB external drives simultaneously.
The choices are endless. The update is coming soon, so use this time wisely to make the right choice for your external drive.
