Minecraft Comes To PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita This August

Grab your pitchforks and get ready to break some blocks, Minecraft is launching on PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita sometime this August.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions will contain significantly bigger worlds compared to their PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita counterparts.  Mojang describes the PS Vita version as on-par with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will cost $19.99, but if you own the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions you can upgrade for only $4.99.  PS3 and PS Vita owners can cross-save to the PS4 version, but due to the larger size of the PS4 worlds the saves cannot cross back to PS3 and PS Vita.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition will be a cross-buy title digitally.  If you own, or are going to buy the PS3 version then you get the PS Vita version for free.  All DLC purchased for the PS3 version will work on PS Vita.  Mojang and Sony are working together to figure out how to give people these cross-buy benefits if they bought Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition on Blu-Ray.

Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition, Xbox One Edition and PS Vita Edition are out sometime this August.
