The Last of Us Directors To Lead Uncharted PS4 Development

It is official: Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann, the directors of The Last of Us, are leading development on the fourth Uncharted game.

Straley and Druckmann have worked at Naughty Dog for years, both heavily involved in the first two Uncharted titles.  At the end of Uncharted 2’s development, both men formed a second team within Naughty Dog to create The Last of Us.

Naughty Dog Co-President Evan Wells confirmed the news to GameInformer in an interview.  “It’s not so much a transition period, actually. We’ve asked them to lead the project. They are excited as veterans of the Uncharted franchise to take the responsibility and they’re doing great.”

Straley and Druckmann will replace Amy Hennig and Justin Richmond, who left the studio earlier this year for Visceral Games and Riot Games, respectively. Uncharted for PS4 is expected to make its debut at E3 2014 next week.
