Watch Dogs Sells 4 Million Units In First Week

Ubisoft has another hit franchise in its hands.  The publisher has announced that Watch Dogs has sold 4 million units in one week, which makes it the best-selling new IP at launch in the history of video games.

“With such strong sales momentum and positive feedback from gamers, Watch Dogs has positioned itself as the must-have game of the moment” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft “We’re really proud of this achievement, and are confident that the Watch Dogs brand has a promising future.”

Ubisoft didn’t breakdown how many units were sold for each platform released, but they did release how many people downloaded the free companion app, ctOS Mobile. One million people have enjoyed the apps revolutionary dual-screen gameplay that allows them to connect with the Watch Dogs universe at any time.

Finally, Ubisoft reiterated that the Wii U version of Watch Dogs is still set to launch fall 2014.  Watch Dogs is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
