Tetris Ultimate coming to PS4, Xbox One this Summer, PC in the Fall

Tetris.  What else is there to say, really?  The be-all and end-all of all puzzle games ever has been on nearly every console, handheld, pc, and arcade system since Alexey Pajitnov first dreamt it up in 1984.  Ubisoft has the rights to the most beloved puzzle game franchise now it seems, and have announced they will be releasing Tetris Ultimate on the PS4 and Xbox One later this summer, and the PC in the fall.

Ultimate comes with 6 modes that look a bit similar to the Electronic Arts version of the game that was out on the PS3 last generation:

  • Marathon – Get to level 15 and rack up as many points as you can.
  • Endless – Go as high as level 30 and keep clearing lines as long as possible.
  • Ultra – Get your highest score before time runs out in this three-minute challenge.
  • Sprint – Clear 40 lines as quickly as you can.
  • Battle – Go head-to-head to knock out your opponents.
  • Power-Up Battle – Be the last person standing after using power-ups to take out your opponents.

Players can play the game solo, battle with friends, partner with a friends, or battle in teams, as up to four players can get in on the action.  The game will also keep you up to date with social feeds and leaderboards alerting you of your friends scores.
