Destiny Beta Hits Xbox Consoles Late July

A Destiny trailer found on the Xbox One dashboard has confirmed when Xbox One and Xbox 360 players will get the Destiny beta.  Videogamer has captured an image from the trailer that reveals the “late July” release.  You’ll need Xbox Live Gold to play the beta, and will need to have pre-ordered the game to get a beta code.

Ever since the reveal of Destiny, Activision and Bungie have made it clear that about their exclusivity deal with Sony.  As a result, the Destiny beta will launch July 17 on PlayStation platforms, 1-2 weeks ahead of the Xbox.  PlayStation uses will also enjoy exclusive weapons, a multiplayer map, and a Strike Force mission.  Sony is also releasing an exclusive PS4 bundle featuring a white console, controller, and a copy of Destiny.

Destiny is out September 9 on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360.  We’ll let you know when a solid release date for the Destiny Beta on Xbox consoles is announced.
