Back during E3 week, re reported on Square Enix’s upcoming Monster Hunter/Crystal Chronicles-inspired RPG entitled Final Fantasy Explorers. At that time, we didn’t have a lot of details other than knowing it’s going to be an action roleplaying experience with an emphasis on hunting down giant monsters through cooperative means. This week, though, we got some more information on the title that should shed some light on what plays can expect. Below is a list of all the new details:
Firstly, the game will have equipment that will reportedly bring back memories from the earlier days of the franchise. Secondly, the characters we’ve seen thus far have been wearing the default equipment for their respective jobs. Moreover, character appearance changes depending on the armor and weapons equipped. Naturally, though, folks will start off with basic gear, which is reportedly fairly weak in the early goings. Over time, players will be able to collect new materials to forge better weapons and armor, giving way to the chance to tackle bigger baddies. Popular weapons like series favorites Excalibur, Ragnarok, Kaiser Knuckles and Hellish Claws are just a few examples of what we can expect to see in the final product.
Clearly, Square Enix is doling out details at a snail’s pace, but at least we’re getting them all the same. So sure to check back in the future for more coverage of the game.
