Many video game franchises are given the opportunity to turn their bit and MIDI music into live orchestral events. The Zelda franchise is one of the most popular, but now another one of Nintendo’s flagship titles, Pokémon, takes center stage. This past year each game from the franchise has had their own albums released on iTunes and now you can see them all live. Pokémon music has been reworked in this genre before, but turns into a whole new experience once it’s live.
Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions will include live, classical instrumental performances of the series’ games from Red & Blue to X & Y. Carefully timed images will appear in sync with the musical arrangements. It will bring fans of all generations together to enjoy a night of classical art. Symphonic Evolutions premieres in Washington D.C. at the Warner Theater on August 15, 2014 and it’s only other scheduled performance thus far will be September 19, 2014 at the Mann Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More dates will be announced, check the website for more details.
