Independence Day brought forth some phenomenal news about this Summer’s most exciting PlayStation 4 release (other than the insanity that is Velocity 2X). The Last of Us Remastered, the full remake of Naughty Dog’s 2013 apocalyptic epic, has officially gone gold. The game’s finished status was confirmed through a tweet by Naughty Dog’s Lead Programmer Jason Gregory:

Gregory kindly elaborated on the contents of the image for those of us with a severe lack of coding knowledge, noting that the game is going through its final quality assurance testing phase. It looks like we won’t be seeing any surprise delays over the next few weeks, meaning that The Last of Us fans new and old can officially begin their countdowns.
