My Caruba: Finally, Another World Arrives On PlayStation Platforms

Another World, also known as Out of This World in North America and Outer World  in Japan when it first came out in 1991 saw a 20th Anniversary Edition release on multiple platforms over the last couple years, and finally we can re-live the cinematic platformer action-adventure game on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita, as the game launched on the PlayStation Network for all 3 platforms yesterday.

The game, designed by Éric Chahi for Delphine Software tells a story of Lester, a young scientist who, as a result of an experiment gone wrong, finds himself in a dangerous alien world where he is forced to fight for his survival.  This is a classic come back to life, as it was originally developed for the Amiga and Atari ST platforms.  It plays a bit like the original Prince of Persia meets Dragon’s Lair, but a lot more forgiving/rewarding, and is a hell of an adventure deep into the game, especially after you get the laser pistol.

As a result of the launch of the game on PlayStation Platforms, Sony has released several screenshots of the game.  For veteran players of the title, this is nothing you’ve not seen before, but it’s pretty cool to see the crisp updated visuals, and I for one look forward to playing this great title one more time.
