One of the best features of the Xbox 360’s Indie and Arcade lineups is that you can download any game and try it out. The PS3 was hurt by this never being mandatory for download-only stuff, and the same goes for the Wii U and 3DS eShops as well. Now, the Xbox One is capable of enable trial and unlock games. This means that like the Xbox 360 and more recently, the OUYA, you can play a game for free until you hit a paywall. With the Xbox One currently very lean on demos, this is a fantastic way to get some gaming action on the device without forking out cash – and it makes the system far more consumer-friendly as a result.
