The numbers are in for June, and once again Sony takes the lead. Despite Microsoft freeing their console from its motion-detecting shackles, and the doubling of Xbox One units sold since, PlayStation 4 managed to move a considerably larger amount of units for the sixth month in a row.
Software sales, too, have been in Sony’s favor across current-gen consoles, with PlayStation 4 iterations faring better in overall retail and digital sales. Whether the Kinect-kess Xbox One will catch up, or even surpass, the PlayStation 4 in sales remains to be seen. For now, Sony continues to hold the title for best selling console.
