A bit of cool detail emerged for the upcoming smash hit for Wii U and 3DS. Similar to how outfits/colors can be changed in other games, players can select certain wearable items before their matches that will either give stats a boost or bring them down.
There are three things to wear: one for attack, defense and speed. Giving Mario High-Power Gloves changes his fireball attack from hot to scorching. A pair of Ultra-Lightweight Shoes lets him fly all over the stage. Wearing an Easy Split-Second Shield Overalls can keep Mario from receiving a severe beating. There are tons of other styles to choose from and should be much more noticeable and efficient than those stickers used in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Emissary Mode.
None of these are allowed to be used during online play either. But all this RPG kind of content makes it more than a fighting game; it’s going to take a lot more strategy than it used to. Taking on your friends is definitely going to be a challenge now and tournaments could potentially last hours. You can check here for more details and images on the custom op.
