Dragon Fantasy Book I was originally released in 2011 for the PC, and was followed by an enhanced port for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Now the 16 Bit homage to JRPGs will be making its way to the Nintendo 3DS. The game comes from independent developer Muteki, and this is what its president, Bryan Sawler, had to say:
“We’ve talked about this a few times now but it’s time to make it official, we’re in the final testing phases before submission and cannot wait to get this out and into the fans’ hands.”
Be sure to check out the official developer blog for all updates, if all goes well the game should launch on the 3DS sometime this year. There are many homages to JRPGs, but this one looks to shake things up by giving gamers a hero that they can probably relate to.
From the synopsis:
Evil is afoot in the land of Westeria – and the only man who can stop it is bald, fat, and retired! Originally released exclusively for the iOS in 2011, DF is a true homage to the classic roleplaying games, such as Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.
