Sony has revealed the upcoming features for PS4 Firmware Update 2.0, which comes with one of the most exciting features announced over a year and a half ago at the PS4 reveal event; Share Play.
Share Play allows users connected through PSN and PS+ to play games together in all news ways. With Share Play, players can invite their friends to take control of their games through PSN. For example, if there’s a part of the game you’re having trouble with, your friend can take over gameplay and help you through that part. Co-Op gaming will forever be changed with Share Play. From anywhere in the world, you can invite your PSN friends to play a Co-Op game with you even if they don’t own the game.
Other new features coming in Firmware Update 2.0 include uploading gameplay footage and dedicated app support for YouTube. The What’s New section will get enhanced real-time activity through friend-on-friend suggestions, instant access to friends and their recently played games’ broadcasts, and real name search function. Sony has more features to announce in the future.
PS4 Firmware Update 2.0 will be released sometime in the fall.
