According to Twitter, Sucker Punch studios has laid-off some employees. There’s no word as to how many yet as an official statement hasn’t been released, but it fits the bill seeing as how companies tend to do layoffs after works are finished.
Sucker Punch just finished Infamous First Light a prequel, of sorts, to Infamous Second Son. First Light follows the story of Fetch, a conduit who utilizes the power of neon to shoot lasers and to speed around town. Infamous First Light is due to release August 26.
[Update] Sony’s comments regarding the layoffs:
“SCEA can confirm a reduction in workforce has taken place at Sucker Punch Productions. Sucker Punch is appreciative of the tremendous work team members contributed to the inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper series, and wishes them the best in their next endeavors.”
Heart goes out to all the folks laid off at Suckerpunch today! Hope everyone lands on their feet.
