Oops! Microsoft Accidentally Outs Resident Evil: Revelations 2

Resident Evil fans can look forward to another entry in the franchise if a leak on Xbox.com is to be believed. Microsoft has accidentally listed Resident Evil: Revelations 2 for Xbox 360, though they have since removed it.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2, if real, would be a sequel to the 2012 third-person shooter that originally hit the Nintendo 3DS. The game received universal praise for its focus on survival-horror over action and thus Capcom ported the game to PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC in 2013. A sequel has long been rumored, but never confirmed. Revelations went back to what made the franchise great in the first place: horror, limited ammo, and zombie like enemies. It had moments of action, sure, but nothing over-the-top like what we got in Resident Evil 6.

This Resident Evil: Revelations 2 leak underscores the fact that Capcom is trying to get Resident Evil back to its horror roots. Earlier this month the Japanese company announced Resident Evil HD Remaster for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The classic Nintendo Gamecube title that scared so many in 2002 is considered one of the best survival-horror games ever made. Hopefully Capcom can find the perfect balance between action and horror with Resident Evil: Revelations 2.
