Assassin’s Creed Returns To Form In Assassin’s Creed Unity

Assassin’s Creed Unity is the seventh main entry in the franchise that began in 2007. Since the first release, Ubisoft has been continually adding more and more features with each game to the point that the experience became bloated. With Assassin’s Creed Unity, Ubisoft is focusing on what made the series great in the first place.

With Assassin’s Creed Unity the team sat down and looked at the three major pillars of gameplay: stealth, navigation, and combat. This meant stripping away a lot of the fluff that the series had accumulated throughout the years like bomb-making, hunting, and, sadly, naval combat. Doing this allowed the team at Ubisoft Montreal to create a gameplay experience that’s both familiar and fresh.

Taking place in Paris, France, Ubisoft Montreal has made good use of the power of the current generation hardware to give us the most realistic world yet. The goal is to make it feel like you could live in this world, and they might have succeeded. We’ll know for sure when Assassin’s Creed Unity launches October 28 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
