A Voyeur for September is Super Meat Boy Forever in anagram form

While many people figured out the word-play of A Voyeur for September, Team Meat announced today that it is, indeed, an anagram of the title of their next game: Super Meat Boy Forever.  The new game is an endless-runner in the vein of Bit Trip Runner 2, except with spinning blades and horrible deadly spike pits that will instantly turn a sentient but defenseless cube of running meat into a splattery mass of burger.  Super Meat Boy Forever also puts Mew-Genics on hold, as was announced a few months back, but the “crazy cat lady simulator” had grown far beyond its initial ideas and needs to simmer on the back burner for a while.

Super Meat Boy Forever is a semi-endless runner, with randomly generated levels that have a beginning and end, plus an endless mode for those who just want to keep going on into infinity.  While the lead platform is iOS and other touch devices, it’s not a single-button game and will play just fine on PC and any other device it ends up on.  Just as importantly it’s not going to be a cash grab, although pricing isn’t set and the possibility of microtransactions not completely denied.  Current plans call for six chapters, double the bosses of the original Super Meat Boy, a Dark World with its own levels, bosses, and playable guest-stars from other indie games.  Basically, it’s going to be huge.  Super Meat Boy Forever is also only two months into development, but in his blog post Edmund McMillen seems pretty happy about how quickly it’s all coming together.

Super Meat Boy Forever is playable at PAX Prime right now, for those lucky enough to be there.
