Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Is Out This Friday

You heard me right, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is set to hit Xbox One this Friday, September 5.

Coming in at $19.99, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition boasts worlds that are 36 times larger than on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. Up to four players can play via split-screen, and eight players via Xbox Live.

Those who already own the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft can upgrade to the Xbox One version for the low price of $4.99. To qualify, you need to either own the retail disk or digital version on the Xbox 360 and connect to Xbox Live with your account. It’s really that simple.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition was announced at E3 2013, but has suffered delays on its road to completion. In fact, PS4 and PS Vita players are still waiting for Minecraft to launch on those platforms, though a release may be coming soon. Minecraft as a franchise has been a smash success selling over 54 million units across PC, Mac, PS3, Xbox 360, and Mobile devices. The addition of the Xbox One version will surely push Minecraft sales even higher.
