New Trailer Shows Off An In Depth Look At The Multiplayer In Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare

The multiplayer has always been the driving force behind the success of  the Call of Duty series, so it makes sense that the newest trailer for the game focuses on why the advancements in the multiplayer mode will make this a must own for shooter fans. There are so many additions and tweaks to the well established and loved Call of Duty multiplayer formula that even from this brief look it already feels like a substantially different experience.

The most obvious change comes from the exo-suit movements and abilities, something that bears a cursory resemblance to the sort of experience you can find in Titanfall. The trailer shows off a whole slew of new moves, with moves like boost jump, boost dodge, and boost slide giving the player a gamut of new moves that really open up the gameplay. While a nice job is done showing off each one in turn, perhaps the most exciting is the boost jump which really will change the way you look at the maps. Fast, significant vertical movement allows for entirely new approaches to be taken to combat and the firefights shown off in the trailer look so much different from the sort of multiplayer shooter experience we’ve come to expect in recent years.

In addition to the moves (which should already have you salivating), the exo-suit will allow you to choose from one of several abilities that use up a battery source and thus must be utilized at the most opportune times to maximize effectiveness. You can cloak yourself, pre-emptively detonate incoming grenades, or even hover for extended periods of time. And all of this really just scratches the surface of what the trailer shows you. Despite all of these differences and improvements, what is really remarkable is that you can still immediately tell that this is a Call of Duty game.
