Warner Bros. has confirmed that the last-gen versions of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor have been delayed from September all the way to November.
The explanation given for this last minute delay is that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions need some more time development, and will now launch November 18. Thankfully, the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions have not suffered from the same delay, and will all be available on September 30.
We always knew that it would be tough getting Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor to work in its entirety on the last-gen consoles. Monolith has already confirmed that the Nemesis System, Shadow of Mordor’s most talked about feature, will be reduced on PS3 and Xbox 360. The core game mechanics are there, but the Nemesis System is just too much for the less powerful hardware to handle, and could possibly be the source of the delay.
